SAS: Who Dares Wins Update

Another week and another SAS: Who Dares Wins Update blog. Boring I know, but consistency sometimes is the most boring thing ever. Doing the same thing day in and day out on your way to achieve your goal. One thing I learnt last year is that when I go quiet about a goal I'm less likely to achieve it.

So this week I attempted the 1.5 mile run and I've dropped 1 minute 20 seconds off of my first attempt in a matter of a week. So safe to say I'm actually so damn proud! Like seriously I am!

How did I progress so quickly all comes down to the following steps:

  • I actually asked others with experience for help instead of finding my own way;

  • Changed my running training to more 100m sprints and interval training;

  • Removed the time pressure stress by stating, '2 miles in 19 minutes 45 seconds. Therefore, whatever I did I knew I would succeed and therefore, I didn't quit'.

I won't lie to you I'm certainly not always motivated, but I just crawl forward daily and it seems to work. Never underestimate the compound effect power. I hope this helps.

Never be afraid to put in the work! That's the only thing stopping you and the negative emotion/ memories you are avoiding. Which trust me I know I avoided timed running for 1 year + due to childhood memories, but I refused to let some childhood bullying from 13 years ago to hold me back forever!
